Where are the jobs of the future? If you’re a business or an individual looking for a future, look into planes, trains, ships and automobiles. Transportation isn’t going away anytime soon.

Discussing hot industries and jobs of the future is one of the things I do all the time, and I even went on and on about the medical and energy fields recently, but something happen to me the other day that made me realize something.

As retail dies what takes it’s place? The Internet. It’s true, the Internet is taking over the retail business (and has for a while now) but how do all of those products get to the consumer? Transportation! Planes, trains, ships and automobiles!

I purchased an iMac the other day for my business. The Internet buying experience with Apple was unbelievable. Great customer service, easy to purchase, free shipping, and the iMac arrived the next day. No kidding. Fantastic.

How did my iMac get to my office? Overnight FedEx. How many planes, trains, ships and automobiles did that take? I am assuming a lot, especially if any of it was made in China. Until a computer can deliver a computer, or any other products, transportation and shipping is here to stay.

So if you’re a business, whatever your product or service is, look into servicing these types of transportation firms. If you’re an individual looking for an industry that you can be employed in for a long time, look into the transportation industry.

Planes, trains, ships and automobiles will be around for a very long time and you can imagine the number of positions within these types of industries. Pilots, captains, drivers, engineers, mechanics, accounting, human resources, hospitality, and the list goes on and on. The future is very bright for these industries. I hope this helps.

Good luck to you!
