If you just got fired and are worried about how to handle this situation while interviewing, in your resume, and during your job search, watch now!

I don’t know the details, but if you were “let go” due to the economy get a letter from this employer stating that due to the economy your position was eliminated, or whatever the situation is.

Requesting this letter, and getting them to do it will help you moving forward. Unfortunately, you’re not alone right now with this situation a lot of companies are interviewing people that have been “let go.”

If this isn’t the situation with you, then the best policy is to be open and honest and explain the situation, IF ASKED. There is no reason to bring up this information unless you are asked. Some companies won’t ask, or care, so don’t worry about it. For the companies that are concerned, you will need to explain the situation and be open and honest. Don’t hide anything.

Now, here’s the good news for you. If all of the people that have ever been fired in their careers couldn’t get hired again, there would be a lot of people out-of-work. To ease your mind, companies hire people that have been fired all the time. It might be the first time for you, but it isn’t for the company you will be interviewing with. Hold you head up high and go for it! I hope this helps.

Good luck to you!
