When you’re job searching, don’t be intimidated!

The old saying, “It’s a hard job to find a job” might be true, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Don’t be intimidated when you are calling, sending in your resume, or stopping by a company and filling out an application for employment. If you’re good, be confident!

I don’t care if you’re a waiter, retail sales clerk, maintenance person, or in an upper management position. These hiring managers put their pants on the same way you do! And, if they’re looking to hire someone for a position, they need you worse then you need them! Do you know why? Because you can always go to another company for employment, they’re stuck in their company trying to fill positions. Got it?

Don’t be intimidated when you call a company for employment. They need you! That’s the way you have to think about it. Plus, it’s true! Isn’t it? If you’re good at your profession be confident! Any company you approach will want to see a confident and professional candidate. That’s the kind of candidate they want to hire. So, don’t be intimidated!

If you’re having a hard time being intimidated during your job search try this. Just think of it as a business call. Or, whatever business your in, waiting on a customer. Do you get intimidated when you’re waiting on a customer or making business calls? No. So, don’t be when you’re conducting your job search either.

Remember, these hiring managers are just people. Don’t put these people on pedestals. They put their pants on the same way you do. And, the most important thing for you to remember is, they need you more then you need them! I hope this helps.

Good luck to you!
